Frequently Asked Questions

If you don’t find the answer to your question in the list below, feel free to email me.

Who are you?

Hi, my name is Molly. My pronouns are she/they. I’m a queer, cis, white girl/human currently living on the east coast of Canada - in the ancestral and unceded land of the Mi’kmaq people. I have a dog, I don’t drink coffee or tea, and I alternate between being incredibly chatty and incredibly quiet. I’ve been drawing all my life and I’ve been tattooing for about 8 years. I’ve been drawing forever. Digitally, you can find more of my work at any of the links below:

What is your hourly rate?

My hourly rate only applies to custom tattoo work, and it varies depending on the city I’m working in to account for things like travel expenses. All rates are before tax. My current set hourly rates are as follows:

Toronto: $200/hr
Halifax: $160/hr
Vancouver: $200/hr

If and when I get the opportunity to tattoo elsewhere, hourly rates will be announced as necessary.

What do flash pieces cost?

Flash pieces (which are pre-drawn, ready-to-tattoo designs) are charged a flat rate - this means they have a set price regardless of how long they take. If you’re interested in learning the price for a particular piece of flash, feel free to email me.

where can I find your available flash pieces?

Only people on my mailing list get access to my available flash pieces! There is a sign up form for my mailing list at the bottom of this page.

Do I need to be vaccinated to get tattooed?

YES. I am currently only booking appointments with fully vaccinated individuals. I will ask you for proof of vaccination.

Where do you work?

Currently I am only tattooing part time, and splitting that time between guest spots. From Spring 2022 onwards, you will be able to find me fairly regularly in both Halifax and Toronto. Following me on instagram or joining my mailing list are the best ways to keep up to date with where I’ll be next.

Will you travel to my city?

Right now, COVID + my anxiety makes unnecessary travelling really difficult. It’s hard to say when I will be back to frequent travelling and guest spotting, but I will definitely be in Halifax and Toronto fairly regularly this year.

Can I Travel to get tattooed by you?

Right now, I am only comfortable tattooing people who are travelling from inside Canada. If you’re hoping to come from outside the country, I’ll be considering those on a case-by-case basis, based on currently COVID regulations. I will post updates as this information changes.

Do you do colour tattoos?

Sort of! I like to add colour pops and accent colours to a lot of my work, and I’m happy to discuss ideas with you if you’d like some colour in your piece. However, at this time I’m not taking on any “full colour” projects - such as neo-traditional, watercolour, or colour realism.

Can I do an in person consultation?

Because of my current nomadic work schedule, I’ll only be requiring in-person consultations for full backs, sleeves, legs, or other pieces that will take multiple long sessions to complete. Generally I find that smaller pieces can be sorted out over email, but if you would like an in-person consultation for a smaller project, please just ask and I will do my best to accommodate you. All consultations are free.

Can I see my artwork before my appointment?

I don’t send artwork previews over email or dm, as I find that its always better to look over a piece in person and talk over the details together. If our schedules align and we have a free day before your appointment, I’m happy to book you for a drawing consult to come see the drawing in person. If you’re interested in this, please mention it when you book an appointment.

CAN YOU DO SCRIPT?

Yes, I do take on the occasional script tattoo. Right now I’m looking for text projects where I have some freedom with the font - you can find examples of my handwriting on many of my former tattoos.

when do your books open?

I try to open my books seasonally, and book a few months ahead at a time. COVID has made bookings pretty messy for the past year, but I’m hoping that moving forward the booking schedule will be more regular. The best way to find out when my books open is to join my mailing list (sign up is at the bottom of this page).

HOW CAN I GUARaNTEE THAT YOU’ll pick my project?

I can’t guarantee that I’ll pick any project, as my time is limited and I usually get a lot of requests. However! The best way to give your project a fighting chance is to make sure you include ALL of the information I ask for when you’re booking. For custom projects, this includes approximate size (in inches) and placement, subject matter with as much detail as you can give me, any references if you have them, if you’d like colour or just blackwork, and what days you are available. If your submission is too vague or missing too much info, you most likely won’t get an appointment. Conversely, if your description of your tattoo is too personal (for example, if it includes detailed description of trauma, or your life story without any design details) you may not get an appointment. Try to include only info that is relevent to the actual design of the piece! If it’s a memorial tattoo, feel free to say so, but please do not go into detail about the death of the person or animal the memorial is for.
Sometimes, I will love your project but just not be able to fit you in to my schedule. If that’s the case, I will let you know that you are welcome to resubmit your request for the next round of bookings!

Do you do scar coverups?

Yes! I am happy to talk with you about scar coverups, and have a fair amount of experience covering all kinds of different scars. Usually, a scar coverup project benefits from an in-person consultation if possible. If the project is to cover self-harm scars, feel free to let me know if that makes you more comfortable, but please do not go into further detail about the origin of the scars in your email. As someone with a history of self-harm, I am always honoured and more than happy to work on scar-coverup projects, but cannot do my best work if your email contains too much description of trauma. Thanks for understanding <3
